| Q.
What is the FotoFacial RF™
Program?
The FotoFacial
RF procedure uses elos technology
to improve the appearance of your
skin. It is an outpatient, gentle
light and radio-frequency energy
full face (also good for the neck,
chest and hand) treatment that
produces noticeable and significant
changes with regard to pink and
brown discoloration and blemishes,
spider veins, sun damage, age
spots, pore size, acne scarring
and wrinkles. This is the fastest
growing non-invasive, non-downtime
skin renewal technique in the
United States.

Q.
What kind of improvements can I
expect with the FotoFacial program?
Overall, patients
can expect up to 70% improvements
in pink or brown discolorations,
50-70% improvement in the appearance
of unwanted pores and texture
and 40-70% improvement in fine
and moderate wrinkles. All patients
notice a consistent improvement
in the appearance of their skin.
The degree of improvement is gradual
and persistent over the 15 week
program and 5 FotoFacial RF™
treatments. The degree of improvement
can vary but averages 50-75% improvement
in anything that is Pink and Vascular
or Brown and Melanin in nature.
The improvement in fine to moderate
wrinkles, acne scarring, skin
texture irregularities, laxity
and smoothness is 50-75%.

Q.
How does elos work?
elos (electro-optical
synergy) uses a unique combination
of radio-frequency and light to
isolate the treatment area and
leave the surrounding skin free
from potentially harmful side
effects. Using gentle pulses of
two targeted energies means better
results with lower overall energy
output—assuring the highest
level of safety and comfort. Other
systems using only one energy
source can’t compare.

Q.
What does elos feel like?
Treatment with
elos produces a slight tingling
feeling, and on the most sensitive
areas of the skin, patients may
only feel a quick, light pinch.
JVAI routinely applies a topical
anesthetic (numbing cream) 30
minutes prior to the procedure
to assure the comfort of our patients.
Additionally we use SynerCool™
during the procedure. This cold
air skin cooling at -32°C
significantly improves patient
comfort during aesthetic procedures
and reduces redness.

Q.
How does the FotoFacial RF differ
from other Photorejuvenation procedures?
Intense Pulsed
Light and Radio-Frequency energy
are combined into one treatment,
making FotoFacial RF treatments
the most effective high-tech,
non-invasive form of non-invasive
skin enhancement. Many other lasers
and devices, such as N-lite®,
Cooltouch®, SmoothBeam®,
V-Beam®, IPL photorejuvenation
or Intense Pulsed Light systems
with the Quantum® or Vasculight®,
claim to deliver state-of-the-art
photorejuvenation. With these
basic Photorejuvenation procedures
you may notice a degree of improvement
in the appearance of some aspects
of your skin, particularly an
improvement in vascular and melanin
based discolorations. However,
by combining Radio-Frequency and
Intense Pulsed Light into one
FotoFacial RF treatment, you will
achieve the optimal degree of
enhancement to all components
of your skin. The FotoFacial RF
procedure can now boast excellent,
no downtime wrinkle improvements
together with the significant
improvement in redness, rosacea,
pinkness, spider veins, pores
and texture.

Q.
How many treatments are needed with
the FotoFacial program?
The FotoFacial
RF requires 5 treatments, one
every 3 weeks for 15 weeks. This
schedule has been determined to
be the most effective in producing
the best results.

Q.
How are the FotoFacial RF™
treatments performed?
The FotoFacial
RF treatments are simple, office
based treatments. Prior to treatment
you will receive a comprehensive
skin assessment and medical skin
evaluation. This evaluation
determines unique characteristics
of your skin type and problem
areas for treatment. The evaluation
also includes a determination
of the product type that will
be most effective for you. The
products will be made available
to you at the time of your first
treatment session.
Thirty minutes
prior to each treatment, we will
apply a topical anesthetic (numbing
cream) to the skin being treated.
Once the procedure begins, the
treatment area is covered with
a very thin layer of non-gel,
aqueous RF conductive medium.
This conducts the RF current into
your skin efficiently. The hand
piece of the FotoFacial RF device
is dynamically cooled to help
protect your skin. Once the RF
conductive medium has been applied,
then the entire face, chest, hands,
arms or affected body part is
treated with a gentle pulse of
light and Radio-Frequency energy.
Each treatment takes about 30
minutes. Because each FotoFacial
RF treatment is gentle, patients
require 5 FotoFacial treatments
(one every 3 weeks for 15 weeks)
to obtain maximum desired results.

Q.
How long will the Skin enhancement
effects of the FotoFacial RF last?
At the completion
of the FotoFacial RF program your
skin will have achieved a noticeable
and consistent degree of improvement.
Over 90% of patients are quite
satisfied at the end of their
program. Occasionally, some patients
desire an even greater degree
of improvement and these patients
will sign up for additional procedures.
Most FotoFacial RF patients will
desire to maintain the nice skin
enhancements they achieved from
the program and, for these satisfied
patients, a single maintenance
FotoFacial RF treatment is recommended
every 2-4 months to keep the skin
looking vital, even, smooth and
youthful.
