Dr. Joyce has been in practice as a board-certified adult and pediatric cardiac, vascular, and thoracic surgeon for the past 15 years. Dr. Joyce describes his mission, purpose, and vision for Joyce Vein & Aesthetic Institute:

"I truly believe that God has blessed me with the ability to provide the best care for others. My practice has included open-heart surgery, chest trauma surgery and vascular surgery. I now primarily specialize in the diagnosis and treatment of venous disorders of the legs. I became more and more interested in these diseases over the past seven years as I realized how prevalent they were. I found that many of the patients sent to me for arterial disease actually had venous problems which were correctable. There was clearly a need for a facility to provide state-of-the-art vein treatment for these patients. This led me to change my emphasis and establish Joyce Vein & Aesthetic Institute in Port Charlotte, Florida.

I firmly believe that for people to function at an optimum level, they must be healthy and feel good about themselves. For that reason, a natural extension of my practice was to include the addition of skin care and acne treatment, and permanent hair removal strategies. I also recommend and make available for purchase, an advanced line of skin care products that are used in our treatment program. Over the past seven years, Dr. Joyce has become a leader in the vein treatment field. He is one of only five physicians in the United States who perform a significant number of SEPS procedures each month. He performs the highest volume of SEPS surgeries in Florida and one of the two highest volumes in the entire country. At the most recent international meeting of the American College of Phlebotomy in November, 2004, Dr. Joyce presented several position papers as well as a training workshop on the SEPS procedure.
